MICHAEL GALLAGHER WRITES

Bloody Mary

To be honest, I've never been a fan of vodka. I don't like the taste. But I DO love the occasional Bloody Mary.

The recipe I'm giving here is the one I used to use at the cocktail parties Norman and I would throw. These days I'll make it by the glassful - and use a lot less vodka and far more tomato juice!

Serves 4.

Ingredients

350mls tomato juice, chilled

170mls vodka

a good squeeze of lemon juice

3 - 4 drops Tabasco (or other pepper sauce)

2 teaspoons Worcester sauce (optional)

1/3 teaspoon celery salt (optional)

16 ice cubes

lemon slices and celery sticks for garnish

Method

1.

Stir the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, Tabasco, Worcester sauce, and celery salt together well. Divide between four glasses. Add ice to each and garnish with a slice of lemon and a small stick of celery.
