Welcome to my weekly diary charting the ups and downs of turning my Victorian whodunnit, Octopus: Octavius Guy & The Case of the Throttled Tragedienne, into a podcast. I'm its author, Michael Gallagher. Beric Livingstone is its narrator.
Where Beric is at:
As predicted, Beric sent me the next two segments this week. When I wrote Octopus I had it in mind to structure it like a play, so, rather than Chapters 10 and 11 (which are still to come), these are The Interval and The Interval Continued, where young Gooseberry has to deal with the man who's turned up claiming to be his father.
Here Beric reads the very first section. Over the next couple of weeks he'll narrate most of The Interval with nothing cut out. And it's stunning.
"The Interval, Part 1"

Me, I spent the week reviewing the new chapters. I'd hoped to listen to Vivaldi (in search of relevant transitions), but that's going to have to wait.
Till next week folks!
