September arrives, and with it comes an overhaul of my website. The fortnightly recipes I post were proving popular on Bluesky, so you can now find the entire collection listed in the main menu.

They're no longer in the order they were published. Instead I've set them out like a cookbook, with sections for soups, salads, mains, etc., hoping it will be easier to browse and find the recipe you were looking for.

Featured book of the week:
GOOSEBERRY:
OCTAVIUS GUY & THE CASE OF THE THIEVING MAHARAJAH

When Rachel Blake and her elderly aunt are attacked in the street, enter the Blakes’ lawyer’s office boy, Gooseberry. Join him as he descends into London’s Victorian underworld to ferret out the truth, while spending as much of his employer’s money as he can along the way!

"This is an easy and thoroughly enjoyable read, with characters that become real in the minds eye, and a setting that evokes sounds and smells of how I imagine Victorian London to be. The story is told at a good pace, without unnecessary padding and with very good humour. I particularly enjoyed the cameo appearance of Prince Albert and the quirky personality given to him.

In the best sense of the phrase, Gooseberry is a rollicking good yarn."

SEPTEMBER'S FABULOUS FRIEND

This month's Fabulous Friend is George, who may have many of you wondering if and when he'll keep his promise to retire. Host of the very popular erstwhile 1PM Chat Quiz over on the other place, George is one of the few online friends I've met in real life.

If anyone's new here, the Fabulous Friends articles provide a great way to get to know some of the key members of our Bluesky circle. Go on! I know you want to give it a read! This month's Fabulous Friend.
