FROM BOOK TO PODCAST:

A diary

May 28th 2024

Welcome to my weekly diary charting the ups and downs of turning my Victorian whodunnit, Octopus: Octavius Guy & The Case of the Throttled Tragedienne, into a podcast. I'm its author, Michael Gallagher. Beric Livingstone is its narrator.

Where Beric is at:

No word from Beric, but that's okay. I've listened to Chapters 7 - 9 (they're fantastic) but I still haven't organized my thoughts yet, nor made my customary notes.

Here we meet Mr O'Halloran, landlord of the Bucket of Blood, for the first time.

Where I am at:

This week has been difficult. The arrival of DMs at Bluesky means that I can finally put my plan to have guest hosts for the Mystery Jukebox into action, so much of my time has been devoted to figuring out the necessary guidelines for hosting.

But I have been looking at fonts used for titles in various videos, adverts, trailers, and audiobook covers. While they're all slightly different and I can't put an actual name to any of them, I am beginning to notice that they all have certain attributes in common. They're generally sans serif and bold, and the "O"s are especially round (as opposed to being narrow).

Fingers crossed I can get the hosting out of the way by the end of the week so I can start on the notes for Beric.
